Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026 · Applies to the ClearShot: AI Camera apps for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play)

The short version. ClearShot has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. When you process a photo, it is sent to our server and to our AI processing provider (Google Gemini, accessed through OpenRouter). It is used only to create your result, it is never used to train AI models, and it is deleted automatically within 30 days. We never sell your data. This policy covers both the iPhone and the Android app; where they differ, we say so.

1. Who we are

ClearShot is developed and operated by Alexander Vinokurov ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: sales@99francs.agency.

2. What we collect and why

DataWhat it isWhy we use itHow long we keep it
Photos you processThe photo you choose to process (after we strip location and other EXIF metadata), the on-device person mask created on your phone, and the resulting image. Nothing is uploaded until you agree to AI processing in the app and choose a photo. To remove people from your photo and return the result. Stored copies are used to investigate failed or poor results and to handle support requests and result reports. Never used to train AI models.Deleted automatically within 30 days.
Device identifierA random ID generated by the app on install. It is not your advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, advertising ID on Android) and not your name, email or phone number. It acts as your anonymous account: it holds your Shot balance and subscription, and it's used to prevent abuse and fraud. While you use the app, and until you ask us to delete it.
Purchase informationiPhone: Apple-signed App Store transaction records (product, transaction IDs, dates, trial/renewal/refund status). Android: in-app purchases are not available yet; when Google Play purchases launch, we'll receive the equivalent Google Play purchase records (purchase token, order ID, product, status). We never receive your card details, Apple ID email or Google account email. To verify purchases with the store, grant Shots and Pro features, restore purchases and process refunds. As long as needed to provide the service and meet accounting or tax obligations.
Product interactionsIn-app events such as app opens, onboarding completed, paywall views, AI-processing consent, and processing jobs (mode, quality, status, duration, error codes). To run and debug the service, understand which features are used, measure reliability and costs, and improve the app.Up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it.
DiagnosticsApp version and build, operating system version (iOS or Android), device model, and language/region setting. To debug problems on specific devices and versions, and to show the app in your language.Up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it.
Messages you send usIf you use Settings → Write to us: your message, its category, an optional reply email address, and the diagnostics above. If you use Report result on the result screen: the reason you pick, an optional comment, the ID and mode of the processing job it's about, and the diagnostics above (no email, and the photo itself is not attached). To answer you, fix bugs and review reported results. We use your email only to reply. As long as needed to handle your request, or until you ask us to delete it.
Anonymous analytics (iPhone only)Aggregated app usage signals via TelemetryDeck. User identifiers are hashed on your device, and TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses. The Android app contains no analytics SDK.To understand which features are used.According to TelemetryDeck's retention policy.

We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, location (precise or approximate) or browsing history, and we never derive your location from your IP address. We only receive an email address if you choose to type one into the feedback form or email us. We don't use face recognition or build biometric profiles. People are detected on your device only to create a mask of where people appear in the image. Photos in your library and camera frames are never uploaded unless you choose to process them. On Android, imports use the system Photo Picker, so the app sees only the photos you pick. The "keep" selection you make in Keep One mode is applied on your device, and your results gallery is stored only on your phone.

The Android app contains no crash-reporting, analytics or advertising SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or advertising ID). It detects people with Google's on-device MediaPipe and LiteRT libraries; images never leave your phone through them. The usage-statistics reporting built into MediaPipe is switched off in ClearShot, so these libraries send nothing to Google. Google Play may collect its own diagnostics under Google's privacy policy. If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to respond to you.

3. Who processes your data (subprocessors)

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run ClearShot:

These providers may not use your photos for their own purposes, such as advertising or training AI models. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

4. No selling, no tracking, no ads, no AI training

We do not sell or "share" (as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act) your personal information. We don't show ads or use advertising SDKs, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. Your photos are never used to train AI models, by us or by our providers.

5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

6. Photos of other people

Travel photos often show other people. ClearShot's purpose is to remove them. Please only process photos you have the right to use. Photos are kept private to you and are never published or shown to other users.

7. Retention and automatic deletion

Uploaded photos and results are deleted automatically within 30 days of processing. Product-interaction events, diagnostics and job records are pruned after 24 months. Account records (device identifier, Shot balance history, purchase records) are kept while you use the app. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below), except records we must keep by law.

8. Your rights and how to delete your data

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR, UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To delete your data: in the app, open Settings → Delete my data (iPhone and Android). It opens an email to us with your device ID already filled in. If no mail app is set up, the device ID is copied for you. You can also email sales@99francs.agency with your device ID (Settings → Device ID → Copy) for this or any other request. Because there is no account, the device ID is how we find your data. We respond within 30 days (California: 45 days).

Deleting the app removes your local gallery. It does not delete server records until you ask us or the automatic 30-day photo deletion runs. Subscriptions are managed by the store: on iPhone, cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android, subscriptions aren't available yet and will be managed in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. International transfers

Our servers and providers are located in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and our providers' equivalent commitments.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Photo storage and databases are access-restricted, and only the developer can reach the admin tools. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and keep it for as short a time as practical.

11. Children

ClearShot is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the changes are material, we'll also notify you in the app or on the App Store or Google Play product page.
